The productive fabric of Lanzarote leads optimism in the archipelago's economic sector at the start of the fourth quarter of the year. According to the Business Confidence Indicator (ICE) for October, prepared by the island's Chamber of Commerce and ISTAC, business confidence on the island grew by 10 points to stand at 133.2 points.
This is the sharpest rebound in the entire autonomous community , far exceeding the Canary Islands average (+2.3%) and standing out from the contraction suffered at the national level (-1.8%).
This boost rests on both the balance of the completed quarter and the prospects for the end of the year. The situation indicator rose strongly to a positive balance of +19.1 points (after -3.8 in July), marking the best island performance.
In turn, expectations for the fourth quarter reached a balance of +14.9 points with 24.8% of business owners expecting improvement, while on islands like Fuerteventura or El Hierro, forecasts worsened.
In the sectoral analysis, employment recovered ground during the summer, leaving a balance of +2.2 points, although business owners show more caution for the autumn with a hiring balance of -5.6 points.
In parallel, price expectations anticipate a moderation on the island: the balance of expected increases fell to +7.1 points (compared to +15 in the previous quarter), distancing itself from the regional trend, where the indicator continued to rise to +16.1 points.
