Canary Islands will participate in the fourth edition of Shooting Locations Marketplace, an event for filming locations that will be attended by professionals from 21 countries.
It will be held at the Valladolid Fair on October 15 and 16 and the film commissions of Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma, Gran Canaria and the company Canary Islands will be there.
Shooting Locations Marketplace, the event for audiovisual industry shoots, will have the participation of more than 50 shooting destinations this year, of which 19 are international.
Auxiliary service companies from Spain, Estonia, Portugal and Jordan will also attend; hotel chains open to filming and professional associations from national, British, European and global levels.
The upward trend registered in 2023 is consolidated this year, especially in the international sphere, with the incorporation of countries such as Austria, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Lithuania or Portugal.
During those two days, professionals from more than 20 countries will meet at the Valladolid Fair to talk about filming locations, tax incentives, sustainability, industry development, etc.
Destinations, film commissions and private companies will be able to meet with 68 location scouts, producers and creative directors from 13 countries.
The majority of them, 49, will attend Shooting Locations Marketplace for the first time. One of the novelties of this year is the incorporation of a new professional profile, that of the creative director, a figure that provides context and complements the information provided by the location scout.
The participation of these new professionals is the result of the collaboration agreement signed with the British association of creative producers (British Film Designers Guild).
In this way, the professional profiles of decision-makers with whom the destinations will be able to meet and present their proposals to host filming are expanded: location scouts, executive producers and creative directors.
70% of the "buyers" come from the United States and Great Britain, the two main markets of the Western audiovisual industry.
The list of countries of origin also includes South Africa, Belgium, Serbia, Canada, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Germany and Spain.
