The Cabildo of Lanzarote and La Graciosa informs of the publication this Monday, August 17, in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP) of Las Palmas, of the call for subsidies, under a competitive bidding system, aimed at the maintenance, conservation, and rehabilitation of private immovable cultural heritage assets on both islands.
This edition starts with an initial allocation of 200,000 euros and includes seven lines of funding to cover everything from the drafting of technical projects to the execution of material works.
In this regard, the president of the Cabildo and Minister of Historical Heritage, Oswaldo Betancort, stated that “protecting our legacy is protecting the identity of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. This new framework of subsidies allows us to support owners who take on the responsibility of conserving those buildings that are part of our history and our cultural landscape. The recovery of architectural heritage constitutes an investment in identity, memory, and future, as each intervention contributes to preserving a unique legacy and strengthening the cultural appeal of our islands”.
All private individuals and legal entities, communities of owners or property owners who hold ownership or real rights over cataloged properties, declared as Assets of Cultural Interest (BIC), or that possess heritage values accredited by the Historical Heritage Service, may apply for this call.
The aid will cover up to a maximum of 50% of the total cost of the intervention, with a limit of 50,000 euros per beneficiary and property. Public administrations, foundations, and civil or religious entities are excluded.
The deadline for submitting applications and the required technical documentation will be one month, from August 18 until September 17, 2026, inclusive. The processing will be mandatory done electronically through the Corporation's Electronic Registry, with the aim of streamlining the management of files.
Finally, it is recalled that the actions subject to aid must correspond to future projects or works that have not been completed before the date of submission of the documentation.
The awardees will have a maximum period of 18 months to carry out the work authorized. Payment of the grants will be made in advance, with the aim of facilitating the economic viability of the works.
