The island closed 2025 with a total of 5,157 companies, 68 more than there were at the end of the previous year, according to figures published by the Lanzarote Data Center.
The number of companies increased in all sectors except agriculture, where 104 companies were counted, one less than the preceding year.
In contrast in Industry two were gained up to 169 companies and in construction were added six new companies up to a total of 454 businesses.
The services sector, which brings together most of the island's companies, went from having 4,369 companies in 2024 to a total of 4,430 at the close of last year. That is, 61 more companies.
Within the numerous subsectors dedicated to services in Lanzarote, the most abundant is that of hospitality businesses, which represent a quarter of all companies on the island.
At the close of 2025, 1,318 hospitality companies were registered, 17 more than there were when the preceding year concluded.
Also the subsector of transport had a significant growth by adding 14 companies up to a total of 446 businesses.
The year 2025 was also propitious for the growth of the subsector that groups companies of administrative activities and auxiliary services which went from encompassing 280 companies to having a total of 300 businesses at the close of last year.
Another sector that experienced notable growth was that of companies dedicated to artistic, recreational, and entertainment activities, which added 17 businesses up to a total of 275 companies.
In contrast, among the shops and workshops for vehicle repair, which represent the second large subsector of services by its size after hospitality, 7 companies were lost, leaving a total of 989 businesses.
Another subsector that lost strength was that of professional, scientific, and technical activities which lost 4 companies and closed 2025 with a total of 295 businesses.
