The Governing Council of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has approved the definitive resolution of the call for subsidies for climate change mitigation and energy transition, aimed at self-consumption facilities through renewable energies in Lanzarote and La Graciosa. The measure represents a total investment of 454,236.09 euros, which will be distributed among 157 projects primarily linked to photovoltaic and wind energy installations.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, stressed that this call "responds to a clear energy planning, with specific budgetary resources and objective criteria, aimed at increasing the production of renewable energy in Lanzarote and La Graciosa".

Betancort added that the volume of registered applications "evidences the growing interest of citizens in self-consumption and energy efficiency, and confirms the need for island administrations to continue enabling economic support mechanisms that allow responding to that demand".For his part, the Minister of Energy, Miguel Ángel Jiménez, pointed out that this line of aid "allows tangible progress in the implementation of energy self-consumption in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, making it easier for families and small businesses to reduce their energy dependence and improve the efficiency of their facilities with public support."Jiménez also highlighted that the final resolution contemplates the advance payment of subsidies, which "shortens deadlines and ensures that the installations can be carried out without delays, a key aspect for these policies to have a real impact on the territory."

The call for applications received 205 submissions, of which 157 were ultimately approved, while others were rejected or withdrawn for not meeting the requirements established in the regulatory bases
