The workers of the company Intercity Bus Lanzarote, concessionaire of the interurban transport of the island, will go on indefinite strike from 00.00 hours on Monday, April 15, unless an agreement is reached at the last minute.
According to statements by the president of the Works Council, Ricardo Hernández, collected by the newspaper La Provincia "the only hope that existed until this Thursday was exhausted." The last meeting between the company and the unions took place on Thursday.
"The advisors of CCOO have been proposing to the company drafts of schedules with rotating shifts for part of the staff -around half of about 120 drivers- with rest on weekends, among other labor improvements, which (the company) still does not accept", explained Hernández.
This Friday, the drivers have been summoned to a meeting with labor representatives to explain the result of the negotiation.
