The Kayak.es travel search engine has carried out a study on the prices of getaways and holiday packages and has concluded that three Canary Islands, including Lanzarote, top the ranking of the cheapest destinations.
Specifically, the result of the study has shown that of the national destinations, the island of Gran Canaria is the most economical, with an average price per package of 500 euros, while Tenerife and Lanzarote follow with 528 euros and 571 euros respectively. At the other extreme is the island of Formentera, whose average price is 1,062 euros.
In Europe, the cheapest destinations are Prague (515 euros), Amsterdam (556 euros) and Sicily (573 euros); while the most expensive are Sardinia, Scotland and Croatia, which exceed 1,000 euros per holiday package.
Outside the European borders, Tunisia and Morocco have the most tempting offers at an average price of 734 and 735 respectively. On the other hand, the Riviera Maya & Cozumel and Punta Cana stand out as the destinations with the most expensive prices, with 1,653 euros and 1,593 euros respectively.
The data in this study is based on searches carried out before June 2014 on Kayak.es (which in turn offers results from different search engines), to travel between August 1 and 31, 2014 and for a period of 5 to 10 days.
