The Hiperdino supermarket chain celebrated its 40th anniversary this Thursday, a commemoration that occurs a few weeks after it acquired 20 stores on the island of Mallorca and therefore, its first commercial leap outside the Canary archipelago.
Thus, the company, created in 1985 with purely Canarian capital, now has 280 stores in Spain and more than 10,000 direct jobs. It operates under the HiperDino, SuperDino and HiperDino Express brands and has four logistics centers.
It also has a center dedicated exclusively to the preparation of online orders and, as a result of its alliance with bp, it has 36 DinoShop establishments under the franchise system.
Tribute to the workers
The company commemorated its fortieth anniversary with an event at the Gran Canaria Congress Palace, which was attended by more than 400 people to "pay tribute to four decades of effort, growth and commitment to the islands."
In an atmosphere full of emotion, a review of the history of the chain was made while recognizing the dedication and talent of its workers.
The opening of the congress was in charge of the CEO of DinoSol Supermercados, Javier Puga, who paid tribute to the store, warehouse and office workers, and gave a warm welcome to the new colleagues from Mallorca.
The congress included a debate table in which industry leaders shared their vision on the present and future of distribution.
The awarding of prizes to teams, the recognition of retired workers, experiential workshops and a relaxed lunch as a farewell marked the closing of this event.
