Alimentos conVida, a project launched by HiperDino and the DinoSol Foundation, has prevented the waste of 571,345 kg of food from the chain's stores in 2023, and has benefited 38 social entities in the archipelago every day.
With an economic value of 1,461,455 euros, 145 of its stores and three of its logistics centers are part of this social and environmental initiative, which year after year manages to increase the figures of food donated daily.
These products include fresh items such as fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and bread, helping 14,243 users from the 38 centers distributed between Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and La Palma.
The Alimentos con Vida project was born in June 2020 with the aim of reducing food loss and waste in the chain's establishments and, at the same time, ensuring that those products that are not marketable but suitable for consumption reach the canteens and social entities of the Canary Islands.
Since then, HiperDino and the DinoSol Foundation continue to raise awareness about this problem and, at the same time, continue to stand by those who need the most help.
HiperDino has 243 stores and works with more than 13,000 references in the archipelago, of which 40% correspond to local suppliers.
In addition, it is the leading company in the creation of jobs in the Canary Islands with more than 9,000 employees.
