The price of fuel in Lanzarote has decreased by 17% between gasoline 95 and diesel compared to the previous year. This is according to data from the General Directorate of Industry and Energy of the Government of the Canary Islands, collected by the Lanzarote Data Center, with respect to last October.

The island of volcanoes reached the maximum fuel price in 2022, with an average of 1.416 euros per liter of gasoline 95. It also continued to rise in 2023, with an average of 1.377 euros per liter of this same type of fuel.

Despite political demands for fuel to be subsidized in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Government of the Canary Islands, led by Coalición Canaria and the Partido Popular, ruled out discounts on fuel in the two eastern islands.

However, the arrival of a low-cost gas station in the conejero market has caused a 17.8% drop in the price of gasoline 95; 13.1% in gasoline 98; and 16.2% in diesel, between October 2023 and October 2024.

Currently, a liter of gasoline 95 costs an average of 1.162 euros in Lanzarote; while gasoline 98 costs 1.320 euros; and diesel costs 1.159 euros.
