The Port Authority is auctioning a fifteen-meter-long boat that was abandoned in the Port of Arrecife for an initial value of 40,500 euros.
The sailboat, named Catalonia, is a Babaria 50 with a mostly fiberglass hull and a Volvo Penta TAMD 22 engine.
According to the appraisal in the auction proceedings, the market price of the boat would range between 91,000 and 117,000 euros, based on the price of sailboats with similar characteristics.
The vessel needs a tune-up, according to the expert's report, both externally, as well as regarding the replacement of the sail and some repairs to the rigging and tackle, which is why it is being sold at a price much lower than its market cost.
To participate in the auction, interested parties must submit their bids by 2:00 PM on January 26th at the Official Registry of the Port Authority or at post offices and make a deposit of a provisional guarantee for the amount of 2,055 euros, which is 5% of the base sale price
