The price of fuels has experienced a strong upward trend in Lanzarote during recent months, driven by tensions in the international oil market and the rebound in import costs. In the case of diesel, more than 70% of the island's gas stations are already charging more than 1.7 euros per liter.
According to the official registry of the Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITECO), out of the 47 operational service stations on the island, a total of 33 service stations (70.2% of the island network) sell diesel per liter for more than 1.70 euros. Furthermore, in the areas of greatest commercial pressure in the south and north, 5 gas stations exceed the barrier of 1.75 euros per liter, approaching 1.80 euros.
The price gap in the island market reaches a difference of up to 27 cents per liter between the cheapest and most expensive service station:
The two most expensive stations this week are DISA Yaiza (on the road to Montaña del Fuego) which marks the island maximum with a price of 1.799 euros per liter. It is followed by the TGAS station in Haría (Cruz de Ferrer street), with diesel per liter at 1.780 euros.
The two cheapest gas stations are Plenergy and Petroprix (on León y Castillo street), with a cost of 1.527 euros, followed by Shell Arrecife (also on León y Castillo street), which sell diesel at 1.597 euros.
