With the arrival of the Christmas holidays, the purchase of gifts for Santa Claus and the Three Wise Men also accelerates, and it seems that this year Spaniards will spend a little more than last year.
According to a survey conducted by the experience gift website Aladinia.com among its users, each Spaniard will spend an average of 240 euros on Christmas gifts. Clothing, accessories, and footwear will once again be the star gifts this year
According to the study, Spaniards will give an average of about **six gifts** this year, with 32% planning to give between one and three gifts, while 24% intend to give ten or more.
The budget they will allocate for Christmas gifts is 240 euros on average, 13 euros more than last year, which is equivalent to an increase of 5.5%.
However, 16% plan to spend less than 100 euros and only 14% intend to spend more than 500 euros. 42% of respondents will spend more than in 2024. Despite the fact that most try to have a fixed budget for their gifts, **seven out of ten Spaniards admit that they end up spending more**.
The survey data shows that Spaniards tend to be quite forward-thinking when it comes to buying gifts, with three out of ten (29%) purchasing them more than a month in advance, while five out of ten (55%) do so several weeks ahead. Only 10% admit to waiting until the week before to buy them, and 6% do so in the two days prior.
A large number of respondents are looking to avoid physical stores, which are very crowded and have long queues at this time of year, as only 6% will buy in them exclusively, while 30% will buy online only, and the rest (64%) will combine both ways of shopping.
It seems that Spaniards are increasingly opting for original leisure and experiences as gifts, with 35% of them spending the most money on this category. Behind that are the usual Christmas classics, as 29% will spend the most on clothing, footwear, and accessories. They are followed by perfumes (11%), toys (10%), technological gifts (10%), and books (6%).
Regarding the biggest **concerns** of Spaniards when it comes to giving gifts, almost six out of ten (56%) admit they don't know what to give because they think they have everything, while 18% are most worried about finding time to look for and buy their gifts, and for 17%, the worst part is having a limited budget
