The Island Union of CCOO Lanzarote has joined this Thursday the mobilizations held throughout the State to ask the Government "to comply with the commitments of the agenda of socio-labor reforms, including the rise of the minimum interprofessional salary (SMI), the repeal of the labor and pension reforms of 2013".

For CCOO, "the priority is to face the pandemic", but together with it they consider "essential" to extend social protection policies". "We understand that it is time to recover and strengthen a social agenda in our country, to recover a table of social dialogue on labor relations and labor reform that was stopped in the month of February of last year," they say from the union.

“We must get the government to comply with the coalition agreement. The working class of Lanzarote has the obligation to take to the streets to demand the repeal of the labor reform, if we do not want the ERTES to become ERES and a drain of mass layoffs," says Fran Martínez, Secretary of Trade Union Action of CCOO Lanzarote.

Therefore, this Thursday a protest demonstration was carried out in a caravan of cars, which left at 10.30 am from the esplanade of the Cabildo, to tour the center of Arrecife. "The situation of the workers on the island is critical, we are notified of EREs every week. It is necessary to toughen the mobilizations if the government does not fulfill its commitments", they conclude from the union.
