The CPI registered positive annual rates in all autonomous communities in April and the highest (2.8%) was that of the Balearic Islands, while that of Murcia (1.5%) was the lowest and that of Canary Islands was close, at 1.8%, according to data released this Wednesday by the INE.
This indicator grew by 0.8% in the Canary Islands in April compared to the previous month and so far this year it has done so by 1.1%.
By provinces, it stood at 1.9 and 1.7%, respectively, in Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where it registers accumulated growth so far this year of 1.4 and 0.8%.
Compared to March, the CPI grew in Las Palmas by 0.8% and in Santa Cruz de Tenerife by 0.7%.
The prices of housing, with an annual growth of 4.3%, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco, with a year-on-year increase of 2.1%, were the most inflationary headings in April in the Canary Islands.
