Proexca participates under the umbrella brand Canary Islands Animation in the 14th edition of the most important animation, video game and comic festival in Latin America, Pixelatl, which is held in Guadalajara, Mexico, until next Sunday.
The main actions that will be carried out there during these days by the Canary Islands team will be the scheduled meetings with the main international studios, producers, co-producers, mentors and delegates of this industry from Latin America but also from the USA and Canada.
In addition, three studios from the Canary Islands have participated in the presentation on the situation of Spanish animation with the economic and commercial advisor of the Spanish Embassy in Mexico City, María Peña Mateos, and representatives of the industry; 3Doubles Producciones, B Water Animation Studio and Crazy Meerkat.
The Canary Islands delegation will take advantage of this event to learn, network and consolidate future working relationships and projects, as well as sow the seed for future reverse missions that can be carried out in the islands so that industry leaders can see firsthand the entire ecosystem of the Canary Islands and its potential to develop the sector.
Connectivity, privileged tricontinental position, training centers, network of professionals and talent, public-private collaboration tools, and an increasingly consolidated business fabric are the main advantages that the Canary Islands offers compared to other international territories to become an audiovisual hub, in addition to the unique tax incentives in Europe and the quality of life that retains talent and helps creation, so important for these industries.
In this edition there are more than 3,500 professionals from 29 countries and around 700 business meetings already planned, plus the hundreds that arise spontaneously between the presentations, pitches and different meeting areas. Walt Disney Animation Studios, Warner Bros Discovery, Sesame Workshop, BBC, PBS, Mattel Television, are some of the big names that attend these B2Bs.
Pixelatl is also twinned with the Canarian festival Premios Quirino and Ventana Sur of Argentina, forming the Ibero-American Animation League, which generates numerous creative, cultural, artistic and economic synergies between these events.
