Since the bankruptcy of the German tour operator FTI Group last June, the insolvency administrator, Axel Bierbach, has been looking for a buyer for the hotel management company Meeting Point Management Holding, an independent company not affected by the insolvency.
According to the tourist information agency Hosteltur, the company BlueSea Hotels (Portobello Capital), owner of three hotels in Lanzarote, seems to be the one that will finally take over the contracts of the hotels of Meeting Point Management Holding.
The manager that worked for FTI operates five brands: Labranda Hotels & Resorts, Design Plus Hotels, Kairaba Hotels & Resorts, Lemon & Soul Hotels and MP Hotels, which total 16 hotels in the Canary Islands.
The first of these, Labranda, has four hotels in Lanzarote. In Puerto del Carmen are the Playa Club, Los Cocoteros and El Dorado. It also has the Alyssa Suite Hotel in Playa Blanca.
BlueSea Hotels has 28 hotels in Spain and three of them are in Lanzarote: the BlueSea Los Fiscos in Puerto del Carmen, as well as the BlueSea Costa Teguise Gardens and the Blue Sea Costa Bastián, both in Costa Teguise.
