The airline Binter announced this Thursday, within the framework of the Madrid Tourism Fair (FITUR), a new route that will directly connect the island of Lanzarote with Santander Airport, starting March 31.
This route represents a milestone for the Archipelago's connectivity, being Binter's first domestic route from a non-capital island, and has been made possible through joint work with the administrations of both regions.
The new route, which will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays, will enable a growth of over 40% in the offered capacity between the Canary Islands and Santander compared to the summer season of 2025. In this way, both regions will be connected with a daily frequency through Tenerife, on Mondays and Wednesdays; Lanzarote, on Tuesdays and Saturdays; and Gran Canaria, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Likewise, the airline took advantage of the fair to present its new onboard menus, which will come into effect on March 1, 2026, and have been improved to include more Canarian brands and products, and to offer more balanced and healthy snacks.
Binter's Inflight Experience Manager, Patricia Hernández, and Greenfooding nutritionist, Silvia Fernández, announced the new complimentary gourmet menus that the airline offers as part of its differentiated onboard service on all its national and international flights, emphasizing Canarian products.
The event was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty of the Government of the Canary Islands, Narvay Quintero, Aitor Marcos, commercial director of Gestión del Medio Rural Canarias (GMR), and Edgar Sabina, an expert wine consultant, who conducted a tasting and description of the wines that the airline will include in its onboard service.
The new culinary offering on board features names like Danza de los enanos, sirinoque, tajaraste, sorondongo, or folías. Among the new items, all in #canarianmode, are the new gourmet appetizer salads with Canarian recipes and the new breakfasts, with sandwiches with different fillings and new gastronomic options such as chocolate balls or truffles, gofio, and corn, made by hand.
In addition, the new BinterPeques children's menus offer fresh fruit or Greek yogurt Sandra and, among the notable changes, new filled burritos adapted to children's tastes
