The Cabildo of Lanzarote will propose measures to the business community for the aesthetic improvement of industrial areas, in a meeting that will be held on Monday, February 9, at 6:30 p.m., in the assembly hall of the island Corporation
The series of performances, promoted by the Biosphere Reserve office, has been designed by the editorial team of BIOCRIT, which will be in charge of advising on beautification interventions if companies request it.
Two of its responsible architects, Vicente Mirallave and Flora Pescador, will inform the members of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, who have been summoned by the commercial entity, of this initiative.
The proposal for the industrial zones aims at their aesthetic homogenization, the elimination of strident color schemes, and the application of measures that improve the habitability and visual balance of these spaces, such as the incorporation of shaded areas or vegetation.
The initiative has already yielded visible results in the Playa Honda industrial zone, the main gateway to the island by air, which today presents a more integrated image with the island landscape, with a very positive overall assessmentAccording to the Biosphere Reserve counselor, Samuel Martín, has highlighted, the purpose of this action, along with the improvement of Lanzarote's industrial landscape, "is to contribute to maintaining the Lanzarote brand, for the benefit of the local population and our visitors, and in coherence with the Pact for the Landscape".
The Cabildo of Lanzarote has been working for years on a comprehensive diagnosis of the landscape, with the objective of detecting and correcting possible distortions with respect to the territorial and aesthetic model proposed by César Manrique.
