Baleària Canarias has formalized the acquisition of the company Transportes Intercanarios S.A. from the Armas family with the aim of strengthening its integrated maritime transport model and consolidating its position in the islands.

With this operation, the shipping company assumes control of a first-class land transport and port services network that will complement its maritime offering, coordinating both activities under the same ownership to offer more efficient, agile solutions adapted to the Canary Islands economy.

The president of Baleària, Adolfo Utor, highlighted: “The acquisition of Transportes Intercanarios means adding a company with great experience, a professional team deeply knowledgeable about the territory, and specialized resources that complement maritime activity. Our strategic objective is to drive its growth and continue to elevate the quality of service offered to customers.”

Founded in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1976, Transportes Intercanarios is a benchmark in the Canary Islands logistics sector. Its activity ranges from the transport of all types of goods to the handling of machinery and port equipment, with branches in Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura, as well as trusted collaborators in the rest of the archipelago.

The acquired company brings a team of about 60 professionals and an operational fleet of over 500 vehicles and loading equipment, including tractor units, semi-trailers, platforms, port machinery, and refrigerated and isothermal containers designed for the transport and preservation of products.
