The port of Los Mármoles, in the capital of Lanzarote, will inaugurate in 2026 a new operations area more in line after the recent inauguration of the passenger terminal. This dock has the capacity to accommodate the docking of up to four large cruise ships.
Arrecife has two passenger terminals. The main one, in the port of Naos (next to Marina Lanzarote), and the smaller one in the Los Mármoles dock, whose exteriors will register a larger operations area after this new port work.
The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, who is a member of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, has detailed that among the improvements that the port area will experience during the next year 2026 is the conditioning of the new operations area next to the Cruise Terminal in this Los Mármoles dock, with an investment of more than 400,000 euros.
The mayor has detailed that until yesterday, companies interested in this new public tender of the Port Authority of Las Palmas could submit their bids for the execution of the “New delimitation of the operations area in the Los Mármoles Dock, in Arrecife, with a tender amount of 447,639.25 euros, including taxes.
Presumably, the execution of this work will take place during the next autumn and will be operational during 2026, a year in which Arrecife will experience a great boom in the arrival of tourists traveling on cruise ships, according to the forecasts of the Port Authority of Las Palmas, with docking requests from shipping companies.
