Lanzarote's population increased by 2,211 people between July of last year and the same month of 2025, according to the latest provisional population data recently published by the National Statistics Institute (INE)
Thus, in those twelve months, the inhabitants of the island of rabbits have gone from being 165,130 in July 2024 to a total of 167,341 people this year.
Most of the new inhabitants between July 2024 and the same month of 2025 are women. In the last year, 1,250 more women were added to the census, bringing the total to 83,161 residents.
Regarding men, the male population grew by 961 people to a total of 84,180.
Regarding nationality, citizens with a Spanish passport amount to 109,749 citizens, 432 more than twelve months ago.
Likewise, more than one in three residents of the island has foreign nationality. The total amounts to 57,592 residents of other nationalities, which is 1,779 people more than a year earlier.
The population only decreases among children and those between 40 and 49 years old
By age, the number of young children is decreasing. The population up to 9 years old is reduced by 356 people, down to a total of 12,904.
Between 10 and 19 years old, the population increases slightly by 83 people, up to a total of 17,470 residents.
Between the ages of 20 and 39, the population has grown by 692 residents, reaching a total of 45,085 people.
The population decreases among those between 40 and 49 years old in Lanzarote by 246 people, down to a total of 27,893 inhabitants.
From there, the population increases in all age groups. Between 50 and 59, there are 395 more people than a year ago, up to a total of 28,438 residents.
There are a total of 19,649 residents on the island between the ages of 60 and 69, which is 925 more than the year before.
The island's citizens between the ages of 70 and 79 number 10,725, 500 more than were counted a year earlier.
From 80 years of age, there are 5,177 residents on the island, 218 more than the previous year.
