The Parliament of the Canary Islands joins International Asperger's Day

The regional Parliament supports diversity and gives voice to the claims of the group in an event promoted by Asociación Asperger-TEA Canarias and Confederación de Asperger de España

The Parliament of the Canary Islands commemorated this Wednesday, February 18, International Asperger's Day with the reading of an institutional manifesto by the representative of Aspercan, María Europa Luis Ramallo.

“We defend respect for diversity and the need to continue advancing in rights and opportunities for people with autism spectrum disorder,” she assured. The event featured the participation of the President of the Chamber, Astrid Pérez, and the presence of the Vice President of Parliament, Ana Oramas, and deputies Raquel Noemí Díaz and Elena Máñez.

The representatives of the collective focused on the recognition of psychosocial disability, the prevention of harassment, and the guarantee of full citizenship. Astrid Pérez conveyed a message of support and commitment to people with Asperger's syndrome and their families, emphasizing "the importance of building a society that values their abilities, talents, and contributions."
