La Palma Airport remains inoperative this Saturday due to the accumulation of volcanic ash that has been deposited on the runway and platform, as reported by Aena sources. The aerodrome has now been out of service for eight consecutive days.

Cleaning work is currently underway, which has been complicated by the rain that has fallen in recent hours, but work is underway to restore operations as soon as possible.

The Airport is limited to emergency flights, upon request. Twenty operations were scheduled for this Saturday in total: twelve with Tenerife North, four with Gran Canaria, two with Madrid and another two with Barcelona.

Companies such as Binter announced last Friday that they would maintain the temporary suspension of flights with La Palma until 13:00 hours, so all their morning flights have been cancelled.
