The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has informed that the Canarian Health Service (SCS) will pay all its workers 100 percent of the amount of incentives from the variable productivity supplement linked to the achievement of objectives, which is executed annually in the month of March.
It is an extra payment that the SCS staff receives based on the fulfillment of annual objectives that each service agrees with its respective management, indicates a note from Health.
The note indicates that this year, due to the effort involved in healthcare activity and the implementation of programs to improve services and reduce the delay of surgical waiting lists, it has been decided that the entire staff deserves the maximum remuneration contemplated for each professional category.
All the staff of the SCS will benefit from this remuneration supplement which is foreseen annually based on the fulfillment of the objectives agreed annually.
Health explains in the note that the incentive program contemplates the payment of 50 percent upon the achievement of the general objectives of the management center (hospital or health center) through the agreed management program and the remaining 50 percent upon the fulfillment of the objectives in each service or care unit.
Furthermore, the SCS announces that since the entry into force of Instruction 14/25, all its workers recovered the seventh day of free disposition of the year 2023, which had been previously implemented since 2024.
In this way, all the staff of SCS professionals enjoys since 2024 seven free days of free disposition, and since the entry into force of the aforementioned instruction, the seventh free day corresponding to 2023.
Regarding this, the The Administrative Litigation Chamber of the High Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) has confirmed three rulings that recognized the right of the doctors of the Canarian Health Service (SCS) to the enjoyment of the seventh day of leave for personal matters.
The note from Health also alludes that from June 2025 the fifth level of professional career for its staff, a right extensible to temporary and substitute staff assigned to the health institutions of the SCS.
Furthermore, it is reminded that the SCS staff has the right to a supplementary payment in the situation of temporary incapacity, as well as in cases of birth and care of a minor and risk during pregnancy, with which the workers will receive 100 percent of the ordinary remunerations.
