The National Geographic Institute (IGN) has registered an earthquake of magnitude 3.2 on the Richter scale that occurred early this morning northwest of Fuerteventura and southwest of Lanzarote.

The earthquake took place at 01:55 hours at a depth of fifteen kilometers, with its epicenter in the Atlantic.

This earthquake has been felt in thirteen points of Fuerteventura, as specified by the IGN in a statement, by the local population, but in none of Lanzarote.

On this occasion, its intensity was two out of twelve on the European macroseismic scale, which shows that the tremor was felt only "in isolated cases" by people at rest or in particularly receptive positions.

The same entity reported on June 30 another earthquake also occurred early in the morning, this time with a magnitude of 3.9 and at a depth of 16 kilometers between Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura, also with its epicenter in the Atlantic.
