The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports 5,426 new cases of COVID-19 coronavirus since the last update on Friday, March 18. The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the pandemic is 323,329, with 13,801 active cases, of which 28 are admitted to the ICU and 263 remain hospitalized. The Canary Islands registers six deaths since last Friday, of which four were reported in Gran Canaria and two in Tenerife. The deceased, aged between 74 and 88 years, had previous pathologies and were in hospital admission.
The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 439.21 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 871.43 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
By islands, since last Friday, Tenerife adds 1,558 cases with a total of 147,591 accumulated cases and 6,241 active cases epidemiologically; Gran Canaria has 123,097 accumulated cases, 2,996 more since Friday, the 18th, and 5,948 active cases. Lanzarote adds 192 new cases with 21,362 accumulated and 219 active epidemiologically; Fuerteventura has 15,509 accumulated cases, with 226 new cases and 336 active cases. La Palma adds 327 new positives, so it has 11,416 accumulated and 754 active cases. La Gomera has 103 new positives, so its accumulated cases are 2,343 and it has 274 active cases, and El Hierro adds 24 new cases, so it has 2,011 accumulated cases and its active cases are 29.
