Canary Islands announces the expansion of the employment lists for teachers in Secondary Education, Vocational Training and Languages

The Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands announced this Friday the extraordinary call for the extension of employment lists for teachers of Secondary Education, technical teachers of Vocational Training, and teachers of Languages.

The General Director of Personnel, Fidel Trujillo, explained that with this call, made by urgent procedure, the Canarian Executive seeks to have sufficient teaching staff for the next year, since an increase in staff is expected as a result of the application of the measures included in the Prevention and Organization Protocol in the educational centers of the Canary Islands against COVID-19, which will result in the splitting of groups and, consequently, in the hiring of reinforcement teachers.

"The objective of this initiative is to anticipate the possible exhaustion of the current employment lists since this pandemic has made it impossible to hold selective processes, which is the ordinary procedure for the constitution and operation of employment lists for the appointment of interim teachers in the educational field", he added.

Applications to register on these lists must be submitted electronically through the Ministry's electronic headquarters between August 24 and September 4.

Thus, a single participation request will be submitted in which all the specialties in which you wish to participate will be indicated and the last request submitted will be the only valid one.

Together with the application, applicants must provide documentation justifying the qualification requirements, pedagogical training, academic certification with the average grade and, where appropriate, documentation accrediting disability as indicated in the resolution.

The call includes a total of 31 specialties: English, French, German, Philosophy, Latin, Spanish Language and Literature, Geography and History, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Biology and Geology, Drawing, French, English, German, Music, Physical Education, Technology, Economics, Training and Labor Guidance, Organization and Processes of Vehicle Maintenance, Electrotechnical and Automatic Systems, Computer Science, Processes and Means of Communication, Processes and Products in Wood and Furniture, Organization and Projects of Energy Systems, Health Processes, Mechanical Manufacturing Project Office, Vehicle Maintenance, Computer Systems and Applications, Welding and Machining and Machine Maintenance.
