The Civil Guard from the Corralejo Main Post, in coordination with the Gender Violence Team of Puerto del Rosario, has arrested a man as the presumed perpetrator of several crimes related to gender violence, sexual assault, and home invasion. Furthermore, there was a judicial order for his search, arrest, and imprisonment due to previous breaches of protection orders.

The events date back to December 29, when a woman reported that her ex-partner had entered her home by climbing onto the balcony, located on the first floor. Once inside, the man allegedly touched and made sexual propositions to the victim, who was sleeping in her room. Faced with the woman's refusal and resistance, the aggressor left the residence. Upon learning of the report, the Civil Guard immediately launched an operation to locate the suspect.

Given the seriousness of what occurred and the suspect's criminal record, officers established a permanent surveillance detail around the victim to ensure their safety, in addition to discreet counter-surveillance at their home. In parallel, **an investigation was launched to locate the alleged perpetrator**, extending inquiries to their family, friends, and frequented locations.During the investigations, the Gender Violence Team obtained a photograph that the suspect had sent to his ex-partner. The image showed part of the interior of a dwelling with views of a swimming pool and a garden area, which allowed them to deduce that he might be in a residential complex or hotel. The sending of the image increased the victim's fear and anguish, as she perceived that her aggressor **was still at large and actively defying police action**

With this clue, the agents compared the photograph with several residential complexes related to the investigated individual's environment. Finally, after a process of detailed checks, the investigators managed to locate the suspect in an apartment complex located on Juan Carlos I avenue, in Corralejo.

On January 3, a tracking device was deployed in the area. The officers went to the suspicious residence and, upon knocking on the door, heard noises inside without anyone responding. Given the possibility that the man might try to escape, the ground-floor apartments of the building were searched. One of the residents, cooperatively, allowed access to his home, where the officers found the fugitive hidden in a small interior patio. As could be verified, the detainee had slid down from a second-floor apartment via a pipe several meters high in an attempt to escape.

The intervention concluded with his arrest at 1:00 PM on January 3rd, bringing an end to the operation coordinated by the Civil Guard Company of Puerto del Rosario. The detainee, along with the proceedings, was handed over to the Court of First Instance of Puerto del Rosario on January 4th, with a court order for his committal to prison without bail.

The Civil Guard reiterates its commitment to the protection of victims of gender-based violence, guaranteeing their safety through rapid, coordinated, and personalized actions in all cases.
