A group of neighbors took advantage of Christmas Day, that is, this Wednesday, to visit all the Nativity scenes on the island. At least, that was the intention since they could not see the Arrecife Nativity because La Recova was closed. "We have never experienced this on the island and we feel very angry with our rulers," a neighbor told La Voz.
This group thought that the Nativity Scene would be located in the José Ramírez Cerdá park, in Arrecife. They arrived to the area around 6:00 p.m. and, upon not finding the Nativity, they asked a taxi driver, who assured them that Arrecife did not have a Nativity scene this year.
However, these people found out thanks to a woman who works in the kiosk in front of the House of Culture, that on this occasion the Nativity was in La Recova. "We went there and were surprised to find it closed. It is the only Portal on the island that is closed on Christmas Day," these neighbors lamented.
The Councilor for Festivities, Víctor Sanginés, has confirmed that La Recova was closed this Wednesday, as it was a holiday. However, he has indicated that the City Council is looking for a way to open La Recova during holidays so that all the people of Lanzarote can enjoy the Nativity.
