Report of a 30-month wait to attend a Dermatology appointment in Lanzarote

This delay of more than two years was the response to a claim made by the patient, who says that he "cannot rest easy" until he is examined by a specialist.

A reader has contacted La Voz to report the long wait to attend a dermatology appointment at the José Molina Orosa Hospital. The patient criticizes "the lack of staff in the hospital to care for people."

It all started a year ago when he requested an appointment to see a dermatologist and solve his medical problem. "I saw that time was passing and since I saw that they didn't call me, I filed a complaint and they sent me a letter saying that the approximate waiting time is 30 months," he says.

Some time before, the patient had gone to another dermatological appointment where he was treated urgently within two months because the condition he suffered was classified as serious. However, his current condition has been classified as "low", so the delay is accentuated even more.

"I'm worried because until I see a dermatologist, I can't rest easy," the reader expresses.
