Residents of a building on La Carmen street have denounced a situation they describe as "unsustainable" after more than a year of problems accessing their communal garage. As they explain to *La Voz*, the horizontal marking for the authorized driveway **disappeared after the road was asphalted in 2024** and, since then, the Arrecife City Council has not replaced it, despite the license being in effect and municipal fees being paid.
Residents claim that the absence of the yellow line has led to numerous vehicles parking in front of the garage, blocking both entry and exit. This has caused "delays getting to work," difficulties in responding to emergencies, and a "general feeling of neglect" by the administration. To this situation is added, they denounce, the deterioration of the official crossing plates, which makes it difficult to clearly identify the license number. Although last year they paid the cost to receive new plates, they state that these were never installedThe affected parties also state that when they call the Local Police, the officers tell them they cannot act due to the absence of regulatory signage, which, according to the residents, leaves them "in **absolute defenselessness due to a problem generated by the City Council itself."Over the past twelve months, several residents have filed formal complaints with the council without receiving a response. The community president states she has repeatedly requested a meeting with the mayor, without success to date
Residents consider that the lack of municipal action reflects "a serious lack of attention to basic neighborhood problems," especially since the driveway permit fees continue to be collected normally. Therefore, they have decided to make their complaint public in Tu Voz with the aim of obtaining an institutional response that puts an end to a conflict that has been dragging on for more than a year.
The community states it is willing to provide documentation, photographs, and copies of the claims made to prove the facts
