Complaint about the way the places for the Yaiza festival stalls are awarded

A stallholder criticizes that the applications "are not done in a cleaner way by drawing lots in front of all applicants"

A reader has contacted La Voz to denounce the "bad management" in the awarding of places to install the stalls at the Yaiza municipality festivals.

"This situation is harming many of the stallholders, not only because the applications are all submitted at 00:00 hours and lead to discussions because they supposedly enter the registry when previously it was done in a cleaner way by drawing lots in front of all applicants," he says.

In this sense, the resident asks himself, "How can it be that the registry falls differently for each person? It is already a coincidence that the family of one of the advisors always enters and this last year, to everyone's surprise, a new councilor enters all the festivals and, even, a place that did not exist is granted."

"This abuse of power occurred again at the Uga festivals where this councilor was able to put his booth in an area that has never existed next to the tent," he continues.

In addition, he also criticizes that at the Femés festivals, "there were people who did not give up one of their positions and the town hall supposedly cannot do anything, leaving people out who are dedicated to this and who could have set up the stall in that space, it is a disgrace."

"It cannot be that having a position in politics gives them the right to abuse their position for their own benefit, we ask for more clarity for everyone," he concludes.
