A resident of Arrecife has reported that garbage bags and other items accumulate daily on La Majada street in the capital of Lanzarote.
This road, located in the Altavista neighborhood, was already the subject of controversy after the Local Police of Arrecife managed to identify an individual who threw junk on the public road.
In the images that he has sent to La Voz, you can see how a dozen garbage bags, plastic bottles and some wooden boards have accumulated on the sidewalk in front of the glass and cardboard containers. He has also attached an image of a set of armchairs thrown in the middle of the same sidewalk and next to the containers.
"It's the same every day. Now it's garbage. We don't have containers", the citizen pointed out.
The Councilor for Cleaning of the Arrecife City Council, Jacobo Lemes, assured in March of this year that the council has increased surveillance in the capital "in the face of the continuous uncivil attitudes" of some residents.
The fines faced by people who throw rubble, belongings or other objects on the public road are divided into three types: minor, serious or very serious.
Minor infractions involve fines of up to 3,005.06 euros; serious ones, between 3,005.06 euros and 30,050.60 euros; while very serious ones, between 30,050.60 and 60,101.21 euros.
