The tourist town of Playa Blanca, in Yaiza, celebrated the first Music Run Night in 2021 and only four years later the name and concept of this popular race appears implemented in Puerto del Carmen, the tourist center of Tías; Haría, and outside of Lanzarote, in Santa Cruz de La Palma, capital of Isla Bonita, thus, its four mayors, Óscar Noda (Yaiza), José Juan Cruz (Tías), Alfredo Villalba (Haría) and Asier Antona (Santa Cruz de La Palma) presented this Friday at Soprts Club Puerto Calero, together with councilors of sports and tourism and the organizing technical team, the calendar of the Music Run Night Series 2025, which comes with more surprises and 1,900 euros in total cash prizes for the four events in the Canary Islands.

The mayors recounted the experience of the sporting event in each of their municipalities, all agreeing on the promotion that a race of popular essence represents for sport, which manages to engage people, neighbors and tourists, who do not usually compete or practice little sport, although athletes with a track record also appear on the list of registered participants, and the dynamization of the local economy as it is a night event full of music with its epicenter in central places set by bars and restaurants.

The idea, originally from the sports events company Summits Sports Events, promotes the creation of a league or series that establishes as a rule to participate in at least three of the four events that make up the circuit of night races as a strategy to offer healthy night leisure plans and a more complete sports offer in the Canary Islands.

The calendar marks the beginning of the series on April 5 in Puerto del Carmen, jumps on August 9 to Haría, travels from Lanzarote on September 20 to Santa Cruz de La Palma, to finish in Playa Blanca on November 29. All the events have scoring distances of 5 and 10 kilometers, also proposing the mile (1.6 km) to encourage the participation of children, girls and families.

The organization proposes a scoring system that rewards a certain number of classified men and women in each event, in addition to the scoring by categories. The final classification of the Music Run Night Series will result from completing a minimum of three events. If you compete in more than three events of the four possible, the three best performances will be added, receiving a score associated with your position in the classification of each sporting event, both in the general and by categories.

The final winner will be those who obtain the highest score in this sum. The scoring system is only available in the 5 and 10 km modalities. Detailed information and the registration management format are published on the website www.summitsportsevents.com

On behalf of the Yaiza City Council, and as the host municipality of the presentation of the series, the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, and the Councilor for Sports, Ángel Lago, valued that "sport continues to be a vehicle for integration between Canary municipalities, bringing together sister towns that in this case promote sport and the tourist attractions of Tías, Haría, San Cruz de La Palma and Yaiza".
