Video: This was Miguel Suárez's departure at the Orvecame-Isla de Lanzarote Rally

The section was neutralized on the fly and the medical and rescue services quickly arrived at the scene of the incident

Miguel Suárez's off-road exit

Miguel Suárez and Eduardo González suffered an exit from the road in the first section of the Orvecame-Isla de Lanzarote Rally that left them without the regional title of champion of the Canary Islands in favor of Yeray Lemes.

The departure took place when facing the descent through the Los Valles area in the middle of the long TC1 "Tabayesco-Las Nieves-El Mojón". Pilot and co-pilot needed medical assistance, although their apparent condition was good despite everything. The section was neutralized on the fly and the medical and rescue services quickly arrived at the scene of the incident and evacuated the palmero pilot and the Gran Canarian co-pilot to the Molina Orosa hospital.

According to automovilismocanario.com, during Saturday morning, hours after the accident, both continue in the ICU in a state of observation and awaiting their evolution as a result of the strong deceleration they suffered in their road departure.

A pity this outcome of the CCRA, with Suárez-González suffering again a similar setback to the one they had in the first rally of the year. On this occasion, it seems that his Citroen C3 also had a flat tire and that could have led to the loss of control.
