The main authorities of Lanzarote and the Canary Islands have been present at the start of the Ironman Lanzarote 2010. Among the attendees was the Sports Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Manuel Cabrera. In statements to La Voz de Lanzarote, he has asked drivers to be cautious throughout the day and for the people of Lanzarote to enjoy the toughest race in the world.
One of the parts of the Ironman Lanzarote animation are the speakers. They are in charge of encouraging the public present in Puerto del Carmen and informing about what happens throughout the race. Their work starts at 7 in the morning and does not conclude until 12 at night.
