Unión Sur Yaiza remains a team in the Third Division RFEF after winning against Mensajero

The season is over and the doubts are over. Despite having almost wasted three quarters of the competition, Unión Sur Yaiza will continue to be a team in the Third RFEF Division after defeating the leader, Mensajero (3-2) in the last match of the league competition.

With this victory, Yaiza becomes the best team of the month in its group of the Third RFEF, after having achieved, like Mensajero, 12 points in five matches. An unbeatable way to end the season after many months of darkness and sorrows.

In the match, although CD Mensajero was not playing for anything, already qualified for promotion to the Second RFEF, it showed its danger as it came back from the 2-0 that the locals put on the scoreboard of the Municipal de Yaiza.

Jesús Monzón's team came out aware, the team had to win, yes or yes, in case El Paso was relegated. A goal by Joni in the 12th minute filled the green stands with happiness with a direct free kick from the left that went into Josmar's goal. There was little the Mensajero goalkeeper could do.

With that result, they reached the break. Weapons held high, awaiting the results of other matches. In the 64th minute, a through ball from Álex Yunes left Joni with the goal on a platter. He became the double scorer of the afternoon after placing the ball grazing the left post of the visitors.

With two goals ahead, it seemed that the job was done, but the leader bared his teeth and showed why he is a Second RFEF team. In two counterattack strikes, he equalized the score. Malick Diallo was in charge of putting the tie at two on the Yaiza scoreboard in just six minutes.

But the locals, despite the absences, were not going to give up. In the middle of the conquest of the visiting area, the referee whistled a penalty for grabbing that Álex Yunes, full of experience and stripes on his back, was in charge of converting to get three points that allow Yaiza to close the season in the Third RFEF and not think about anything else than
not to rest after a complicated year and prepare for next season.

After the match, fans and club, hand in hand, enjoyed a barbecue as the closing of the season. Unfortunately, the player Grimón began to feel unwell and had to be taken away by the ambulance. Fortunately, our warrior is now stable and at home to rest as he deserves.
