Last weekend, the second day of the XXII Isla de Lanzarote Tournament was held, a competition organized by the Island Federation of Lanzarote and sponsored by the Island Council through the Island Sports Service. This day ended with Unión Sur Yaiza Grupo Rosa as the sole leader of the competition, after defeating Tinajo Construcciones Guadayca 12-11. For its part, Tías Cabrera Medina, with great spectacle, defeated Unión Norte Orvecame 12-8 and thus obtained its first three points. Finally, in the fight on Saturday, Tao Cicar and San Bartolomé Construcciones Acosta tied at twelve with controversy included, since in a farewell from the federal table the chronometer was not started when there were only six seconds left to finish the second grapple between Jorge Quintero and Efraín Perera.
In the course of that time, the referee of the fight, José Pérez, placed the fourth warning to the two fighters, and they were disqualified, putting the tie at twelve on the scoreboard at that moment.
Entering what the fights were, on Friday night they faced each other in the municipal arena of Tinajo, in the second fight of this day, Tinajo Construcciones Guadayca and Unión Sur Yaiza Grupo Rosa, with final victory for the visitors by twelve to eleven.
With a good entry of fans and regular arbitration by Sebastián Lemes, a fight began where the most outstanding wrestler, despite the defeat of his team, was Toni Rodríguez, who left Carlos Bravo, Ayonat Caraballo, Anyelo López, Aron Santana and Rafael Rodríguez out of the fight. Finally, he was defeated at the hands of José Antonio Santana, a fighter who had just brought down Wenceslao Gil and Josué Cedrés (with this last fighter he was about to eliminate himself, knocking him down when there were only twelve seconds left of the third grapple).
As for Saturday night, Tao Cicar and San Bartolomé Construcciones Acosta tied at twelve. With a good entry of spectators and arbitration protested by the visitors of José Pérez, a fight began that ended with controversy, and in which the local team's mainstay Jorge Quintero stood out, who left Darío García, José Alfredo Mendoza and Roberto Berriel out of the fight, while for the visitors Efraín Perera did the same with Óscar González and Carlos Reguera, placing the tie at eleven on the scoreboard at that moment.
Then came the most anticipated grapple of the night, the confrontation between the two mainstays of the two teams, Jorge Quintero for the locals and Efraín Perera for the visitors. The first fight ended in regulation time, while the second did not reach its end, since the referee of the fight, José Pérez, disqualified the two fighters for four warnings in the second grapple. In this grapple the controversy of the night occurred, since when there were only six seconds left to finish the fight, the two fighters had to start the grapple again, the referee blew the whistle, but the federal table did not start the chronometer to dispute those six seconds; in that time the referee signaled the fourth warning to the two fighters, the reasonable doubt is that if the regulation time was not met before that fourth warning, although it is true that the referee also has the time of the grapples controlled.
Finally, on Thursday night the fight between Tías Cabrera Medina Hotel Fariones and Unión Norte Orvecame was held, a fight that ended with victory for the locals by twelve to eight, information about this fight was already given in La Voz de Lanzarote last Saturday.
