UD Lanzarote choked again against a subsidiary team, the bottom-placed UD Las Palmas Atlético, who in this fourth match also managed to break the unbeaten record of the Lanzarote team. The "rojillos" did not have a good game against the Gran Canaria team; they were not successful in the first half, where they wasted several very clear goal opportunities.
Already in the second half, the locals found their way to the opposing goal and scored the first goal early on.
UD Lanzarote came out focused from the start, eager to take all three points. Already in the 6th minute, midfielder Raúl García tried after stealing a ball in the area, but a defender cleared it for a corner kick when he was about to shoot. In the tenth minute, Yeray Hernández cut inside the area and shot with his right leg for goalkeeper Galán to block low down.
For its part, UD Las Palmas Atlético reacted quickly and left the complexes of some young players in the locker room, and in the 15th minute, Randy took a free kick from the edge of the area; the ball touched a player in the wall and Marino put his hand in to send it out for a corner kick. UD Lanzarote easily reached the vicinity of the area and the chances followed in the final stretch of the first half, but Galan was safe between the posts.
In the second half, the game returned with a defensive error by the visitors, an error that cost the "rojillos" the first goal. Las Palmas Atlético thus took the lead thanks to a cross from the right wing that reached Raúl Barcos, who shot low and beat goalkeeper Marino. Then UD Lanzarote was hesitant in the face of the goal and the locals had in Randy a protagonist of several dangerous approaches that did not materialize into a goal.
Already in the final stretch of the match, with a UD Lanzarote charging to the attack and with three defenders, the sentence of the yellows would arrive.
In the end, first defeat of the season against a team in need of points. Now Luis Rueda's squad plays this coming Wednesday at the Ciudad Deportiva, in the advanced fifth match. Their rival, Ciudad de Lorquí.
