The first team of Unión Deportiva Lanzarote joined the training sessions on Monday afternoon and started the pre-season. Under the orders of Quico de Diego, the red-and-white team completed its first work session. The ball and physical work were the main protagonists of the first pre-season training. A work session to which several players were incorporated and who will be on trial in the coming weeks.
Before the start of the first pre-season training, the president of UD Lanzarote, José Domingo Machín, the club's secretary, Domingo Gil, and the Sports Director of UD Lanzarote, José Antonio Sosa Espinel, met with the members of the squad. A talk that served to make known what is expected of the UD Lanzarote squad in the season that is about to begin.
In total, there were 31 players who came under the orders of Quico de Diego on Monday afternoon. The Tenerife coach was accompanied, in this first training session, by Eugenio Rojido, who will act as physical trainer, and Orlando Vera, assistant to the first coach and goalkeeping coach.
Several players have joined the UD Lanzarote training, being on trial for several weeks and trying to convince the red-and-white coach. Goalkeeper [Oscar->http://oscars-awards.com] from the youth team, who will be the team's third goalkeeper, joined the training. In addition to Javi (UD Las Palmas "C"), Vily (Altavista), José Andrés, Jeison (youth team), Ayoze Berriel and Sergio (CD Teguise). The list of new faces was completed with the presence of Miguel Gopar, a cadet category player who played for CD Teguise last season.
With respect to the list of players provided last week, the only absence was that of defender Andrés Gasparini. The player will not play for UD Lanzarote this season and his next destination could be Yeclano Deportivo of the Second Division B.
Quico de Diego arranged for a work session that lasted for two hours and where the ball was the main protagonist. All the exercises carried out in the first work session of the season had the ball as a basic element and, in addition, a strong rhythm was imprinted on the training.
In the first pre-season training session, there were no physical incidents to regret and all the players completed the work session without problems. The UD Lanzarote squad is scheduled for Tuesday and the second training session will take place from 8:30 p.m. at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote facilities.
