Last Saturday, a match was held in La Palma between C.D. Mensajero and U.D. Lanzarote, two teams fighting to occupy the top positions in the standings.
In the second minute of the match, the rojillo team had a clear chance after the referee signaled a penalty for a handball inside the palmero team's area. The penalty was taken by Rosmen and deflected by the local goalkeeper Kilian.
The match was developing with respect between both squads. In the 15th minute of the match, Mensajero had a good scoring opportunity after a shot by Vianney that hit the post. A minute later, the local team took the lead through Víctor Rodríguez.
U.D. tried to recover and sought the equalizer, and despite achieving some clear scoring opportunities, they couldn't do it. It was C.D. Mensajero who would extend their lead when in the 30th minute of the game, Yeray controlled the ball at the right vertex of the edge of the area and executed a beautiful and powerful shot into the top corner, against which goalkeeper Agoney could do nothing. With 2-0, the first 45 minutes came to an end.
The second half started and U.D. Lanzarote continued in search of the goal that would get them back into the game. They carried the weight of the match for many minutes while Mensajero tried to take advantage of their counterattacks, with Vianney taking advantage of one of them to make it 3-0 on the scoreboard in the 79th minute of the match. With this result, the 90 minutes came to an end.
Maxi Barrera's pupils will play their next match in 2 weeks, specifically on January 13th at 12 noon, visiting U.S. Yaiza in the south of the island of volcanoes.
