The Timanfaya Walking Football Club recently emerged in Lanzarote as a non-profit project to promote sport and prevent a sedentary lifestyle among the population. In addition, its objective is also to "encourage friendship between older adults of both sexes through an adapted and accessible way of playing football: walking football", explains Marcelo Lemos, president of the club.

This modality, also known as walking football, allows you to enjoy the king of sports without having to run or make intense physical efforts, allowing older people or those with reduced mobility to stay active, motivated and socially connected.

Likewise, the Timanfaya Walking Football Club defines itself as an "inclusive and community" team, open to all people who want to participate, regardless of their age, physical condition or previous experience.

In this way, they use football as a tool to combat a sedentary lifestyle, promote cooperation, laughter and good vibes in a safe, respectful and fun environment.

For those interested in joining the club, they train every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Playa Honda football field.
