Important tie achieved against Errece Almassora BM, in a tough transfer to the municipal pavilion La Garrofera and a schedule that further complicated the physical condition of the Lanzarote team. Which did not prevent the red-and-black team from adding another scoring matchday, which has been worth to move up one more position to occupy the sixth qualifying place, being only two points from the fourth classified, the CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife, a team that marks the position for the promotion phase.
The match was marked by inaccuracies. This resulted in a particularly erratic first few minutes, with Brenda Roger taking charge of opening the scoring after three minutes of play after the second intervention of a Susi Sánchez who was firm with the Castellón team's outside shot, a resource that the locals tried to exploit due to the great red-and-black defense.
After a good recovery by Gleinys Reyes, the Majorera player would also score the 0-2 when five minutes of the match had already passed, and neither of the teams felt comfortable on the court. CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote was able to find gaps in attack, but ran into the Castellón goalkeeper who prevented them from widening the gap in a score that would not move until almost the tenth minute with a goal from Ingrid Roger that made it 0-3, but that tasted like little after the batateras had missed several clear chances, including two maximum penalties missed until then.
Errece Almassora BM would take ten minutes to find the goal, taking advantage of the numerical superiority to definitively enter the match and quickly equalize the score (4-4), against a CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote that gave facilities in defense.
After the first quarter of an hour, Errece Almassora looked much fresher than their rival, who, despite having achieved the tie at 5, could not overcome the batateras in a very rough match that continued with numerous inaccuracies.
Despite the mistakes on both sides, the red-and-black team maintained their one-goal advantage, with several opportunities to extend it again. Something that would not happen until after the first thirty minutes, with Brenda Roger converting a penalty that left a meager 8-10 at halftime.
Errece Almassora BM returned better from the locker room, getting a partial score of 2 to 0 to quickly tie the match (10-10), and return to the script of the first half with both teams committing numerous failures. Only the local goalkeeper prevented the batateras from regaining control of the match, who would not find the rival net until the fifth minute of the second half, a goal with which they tied the score in an electronic scoreboard in which the Castellón team had managed to get ahead for the first time.
Patro Barambio was forced to ask for a time-out when the locals managed to get two goals ahead (15-13), a partial score that they would extend to four goals with fifteen minutes to go with a score of 18-14 that did justice to the team that had been somewhat more successful among so many mistakes.
The physical condition did not help, but despite being somewhat stuck in attack, CB Zonzamas CICAR Lanzarote finally managed to impose themselves in defense to fight for the tie, getting to just one goal in the final six minutes of the match (20-19).
Just one minute later, Errece Almassora BM recovered to make it 22-19, which encouraged the stands, although the Castellón team would not score again in the five minutes remaining in the match, in which the red-and-black team left their skin with goals from Berenice Frelier and Gleinys Reyes. The latter twice, with the Cuban leaving a beautiful lob that went to the beat of the great intervention of Susi Sánchez to close the match with a 22-22 draw.
A draw that in other circumstances might taste like little, but with which this time it has been possible to continue fighting for new achievements. All this despite the fact that the red-and-black team had already achieved the objectives of the season, which gives even more value to the physical sacrifice shown by the batateras in this final stretch of the league, a competition that will resume on April 29, also away from home, against Soliss BM Pozuelo de Calatrava.
