The young man from Lanzarote, Adrián Barrera, signs for Atlético de Madrid's youth team

The clubs of the elite of Spanish football have once again set their sights on Lanzarote footballers. Atlético Madrid has acquired the services of Adrián Barrera Toledo in the last few hours, a young player from Conejero trained in the lower categories of San Bartolomé and who last season was in the ranks of UD Lanzarote. After several days of testing with the mattress team, Adrián has fulfilled a dream and will play this season for Atlético de Madrid in the cadet category.

Last April, Adrián Barrera turned 15 years old and the good season with the UD Lanzarote shirt has not gone unnoticed by scouts. About 10 days ago, Adrián traveled to Madrid with the intention of joining the training sessions of the Atlético de Madrid cadet team, trying to pass some demanding tests.

During his stay in Madrid he has played several friendly matches with Atlético de Madrid and his good performances have ended up convincing the coaching staff of the mattress team. Adrián Barrera is a left winger who can play both as an inside player and as a full-back. His physical size allows him to adapt perfectly to the full-back position and it is in that area of the field that Atlético de Madrid intends him to play.

On Monday morning, the player's father received the contract that will link Adrián Barrera Toledo with Atlético de Madrid for one season. The player will live in a residence that the club has on the outskirts of Madrid. In the next few days he will travel with his new teammates to Barcelona to play a pre-season friendly tournament.
