The Team Columbia-HTC cycling team trains in Lanzarote

The American cycling team Team Columbia-HTC, which includes British sprinter Mark Cavendish, who won six stages in the last edition of the Tour de France, is training in Lanzarote these days. The team has moved 28 cyclists and 37 employees to the Island, staying at the high-performance facilities of Club La Santa.

"For its temperate climate and its facilities"

Team Columbia-HTC, made up of men and women of 18 different nationalities, adding a total of 132 victories in the 2009 season, has chosen Lanzarote "for its temperate climate and the quality of its facilities, thus allowing optimal physical preparation for the great challenges of the next season".

The Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Luis Arráez, received the members of the expedition at a gala dinner held last night at the Castillo de San José, and stated that "the stay of the American team in Lanzarote is a pleasure and a pride for the Tourism Board".
