The Tao Wrestling Club won 12 to 7 against the Unión Sur Yaiza Wrestling Club in the youth final of the Fundación La Caja de Canarias Trophy, which was held last Friday at the Feluco Paz de San Bartolomé Arena.
The team, coached by Miguel Ángel Niz, took great care not to be surprised by Tomás Quesada's team, as happened in the League final, putting up a very serious fight from the start and taking great care in the clashes against the outstanding members of the southern team.
Those from the municipality of Teguise started with an advantage in the first chairs, placing themselves 4 to 0, having to enter the arena Marcos Correia on the part of the yellows to knock down Kilian Arraez, with two knocked down; José Antonio Morales and Andrew Alcilla, falling before the verdillo standout, Cristo Betancort, putting the score 9 to 7 and leaving the way clear for the CL Tao.
Despite the impetus of Javier Betancort against Pedro Arrocha, the desire of Diego Cazorla against Jean Pierre Moreno or the attempts of Javier Quesada against Cristo Betancort, it was the wrestlers of Miguel Ángel Niz who won, placing the trophy in the record of the Teguiseños.
In the subsequent awards ceremony, Francisco Rivera of the Tinajo Wrestling Club was also awarded as the most spectacular of the Fundación La Caja de Canarias Trophy and Echedey Zamora of the Unión Sur Yaiza Wrestling Club as the wrestler with the most knockdowns in the competition.
