The central court "Alex Corretja" of the Fariones Sports Center was filled with spectators on Sunday morning and enjoyed the final of the ITF Isla de Lanzarote II. A final that was starred by the Spanish José Checa – Calvo and the Italian Andrea Basso, and that would meet expectations by seeing good tennis between both. José Checa with a very calculating game was able to beat Andrea Basso, a player who was declining in his game as the match progressed and would end up suffering the effort made throughout the week. The player from Cuenca won 6/4 and 6/1, obtaining 18 points for the ATP ranking and close to 2,400 dollars in prize money.

The first set of the match was marked by equality, with both tennis players developing very tough tennis and most of the games being resolved in the tiebreaker. None of the players gave in on their serve, although with difficulties they ended up closing their service. In the tenth game of the first set, José Checa-Calvo broke the Italian's serve, which was enough to win the first set by a score of 6/4.

Andrea Basso mentally collapsed at the beginning of the second set, a circumstance that was taken advantage of by the Spanish player to step on the accelerator and achieve two breaks to put himself with a clear 5/0 on the scoreboard. Andrea Basso needed the assistance of the tournament physiotherapist, suffering the effort he had made throughout the week. This second set was again decided in favor of José Checa by 6/1 and that served to take the victory in the ITF Isla de Lanzarote II.

The ITF Isla de Lanzarote II is the sixth title that José Checa-Calvo has achieved this season, who declared at the conclusion of the final that "it has been an almost perfect season" and explained that "there have been six titles and ten finals that I have played this season". Regarding the development of the match, Checa commented that he had "used experience" and argued that "by winning the first set I put in the fifth gear against the mental slump that the rival has starred in".

The ITF Isla de Lanzarote II, a tournament organized by Futures Lanzarote and which has been held at the Fariones Sports Center, closes the Spanish circuit of ITF Futures. The season does not end here for José Checa-Calvo, tennis players who in the coming days will play the Spanish Absolute Championship and who in January plans to travel to Australia to play the previous phase of the Australian Open.
