The CUP 180 is underway, and next Sunday, April 24, in Morocco, the tenth edition of the "CUP 180" kicks off. During 5 stages, teams will be able to compete in one of the most prestigious navigation competitions, bringing together a good group of teams.
The island of Lanzarote will have two teams, who are finalizing the preparation of the vehicles and navigation knowledge in the mountains and desert. The Seguridad Lanzarote team, consisting of José Manuel Galán and Adolfo Suanzes, will participate in the "Cup 180", a competition they have won on several occasions.
José Manuel Galán and Adolfo Suanzes are two adventurers with an extensive record in the world of motorsports. They became the first Canary Islands team to reach the Dakar finish line and participated several times when the race was held in African territory. They have extensive experience in 4x4 events, combined with their navigation skills.
After many years without competing together, José Manuel Galán and Adolfo Suanzes return to the adventure. The Seguridad Lanzarote team will take part in the tenth edition of the "Cup 180", a navigation event held in Morocco from April 24 to 29. The members of the Lanzarote Seguridad team have extensive experience in this event, having won several editions and reaching the podium in the rest of their participations.
The team was officially presented last weekend, an event that took place in La Vegueta (Tinajo) and was attended by Jesús Machín, mayor of Tinajo. José Manuel Galán and Adolfo Suanzes unveiled the vehicle they will have to successfully complete the five stages of the "Cup 180".
The vehicle they are participating with in the "Cup 180" is a Toyota Land Cruiser KZJ 77 "very well prepared to be able to face this type of test with guarantees, with suspensions, tires, Winch WARN that face the stony terrains and the very varied tracks with guarantees", they point out. It will be the first time that the vehicle participates in this test but not in this type of tests, since they have been participating in tests both nationally and in Portugal and Malaysia,
Galán is aware of how hard the test is and the level of participants, so they will try to use the best strategy in navigation and a good tactic in the special tests that can determine a good result.
The "CUP 180" is the legendary test that is being recovered and that is inspired by an adventure in large expeditions, which is won by the best strategists, not those who run the most, in which a real dream and a great experience will be lived. It is an orientation adventure and the most important test with all-terrain vehicles consisting of locating a series of places (WP) with the realization of the corresponding digital photograph.
