The Youth Center of Arrecife brought together on Wednesday night many of the people who have been part of the 50-year history of the San José Obrero Handball Club, an anniversary that the entity of the Titerroy neighborhood celebrates this year. The founders of the club, coaches, players and presidents, among others, were in charge of recounting the history since the club was founded in 1975, and how what a group of friends started has become a great social phenomenon.
Agapito de León, Erasmo García and Andrónico Pérez, founders of CB San José Obrero, were in charge of opening the event, narrating the beginnings of the club in the Titerroy neighborhood, and recalled how in those times handball already existed in the schools of Sanjurgo and Benito Méndez. Next, Lorenzo Lemaur took the baton, and was in charge of continuing with the guiding thread of the event in which the different generations were intermingled.
